999
August 24, 1992
Mr. Berhan Keffelew 1992
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Chenoweth 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 0. ` LL '
& Denver, CO 80203
Associates
Re: Adequacy Review, Pit No. 2, Permit No. M-74-012
environmental
consultants Dear Berhan:
The following is our response to your August 2, 1992 letter.
Exhibit C-2. Pre-Mining Plan Map.
1) The two wells, and associated pipelines are the only man
made structures within 200 feet of the permit area. Also the
Nelson family owns the building in the southeast corner of the
permit area but have granted the Varras permission to mine with
the excavation buffer that is shown around these buildings. A
letter will be forthcoming from the Nelsons documenting this
situation.
2) The maps have been revised to reflect my signature as
preparer and checked by a licensed surveyor. Also, other
pertinent changes to pipeline locations, labels, etc. have been
changed accordingly.
3) The agreements from AMOCO regarding Harold Nelson
Unit-A-True #1 M.S. 30640 gas well located in the SE/4 Sec:31,
T3N, R67W are enclosed and dated March 11, 1992. Agreements
regarding the Harold Nelson A-1 M.S. 7961 gas well located in
the NE/4 Sec:31, T3N, R67W are forthcoming. AMOCO has
provided us with a verbal clearance for the mine plan. The
clearance is pending Varra Companies, Inc. signing documents to
provide a replacement access road to mitigate loss of the existing
access.
The agreements from AT&T regarding buried fiber optic
cables running north-south through the center of Sec:31, T3N,
R67W (on the far west edge of the permit boundary) are
forthcoming. The enclosed hand drawn sketch illustrates that the
fiber optic line is outside of the permit area.
117,90 Wadsworth Blvd.
Broomfield, CO 80020
(303)469-1986 '
FAX(303) 465-2478
