N0. 2382F_ POINT (4)
MONITORING OF PROJECT
_ __
BEI suggests that the monitoring program discussetl below applies only to the 42
day free-cyanide-reduction program. It accepts that monitoring mutt continue but
suggests this remains for later discussion.
The species to be monitoretl shall be Free and WAD cyanide; if t e State still
in515ts, then of course Total shall also be determined, These en~ yses shall be
conducted at least once-a-day and the results that are obtained reported to the
State immediately. A continuous log of all data shall 6e kept byBMG and BEI to
confirm Free-CN reduction,
Free CN shall be determined at the following locations:
1. In the tailings prior to Cytox addition.
2. At the spicket where the tailings enters the settling pond.
3. In the settling pond.
4. In the collector pond.
WAD shall be measured at the spicket and it shall be presumed tlhat this level
will be the same in all other areas.
In addition, the beach zone shall be monitored for "slime" that could indicate
a system-acidity change.
The level of the metals Cu, Zn and Fe shall also be determined and equally
reported.
Tests such aS ANP and humidity-cell shall be postponed until (CN)-!1eve15, within
42 days, are at the predicted acceptable level, other than !those ANP and
humidity-cell tests already required by the permit.
zT~zt•d
:T0 25, L0 JdtJ
