Banta.
Division Dvccior
Upon inspecting the above named property in the field I have som further
comments regarding the adequacy of your application. Please add ess each of
these as soon as possible so that we may proceed with your appli ation per
our various discussions and correspondence. A copy of your insp ction
report will be enclosed either in this letter or under separate over, and
it too contains items that may need to be addressed in your adeglacy
response.
There is no provision in the mining plan for storing or dis osing of
the screened fines. Presently, much of this material is be ng dumped
in the drainages south of each of the two processing areas.
Amend both the mining and reclamation plans to account for ~ermanent
disposal of fines that will not be trucked off site.
2. The slope below the present processing area has been over-s eepened by
dumping the screened fines over the bank into the drainage. The
instability problem created by this situation threatens the access road
and may affect the eventual silting of the Bessemer Ditch.
Amend the mining plan to address disposal of the fines that presently
form the steep slope below the screening area. Indicate ho and where
the material will be moved, or how it will be stabilized, a d provide a
time frame for that activity. In any regard, a resolution o this
situation should be completed by the date shown in the insp ction
report.
3. The tall benched road cut on the access road is not mention¢d in the
original mining plan.
Please commit to revegetating the benches of this road cut.
4. The eastern border of the Tekavich property appears to be d afted
incorrectly. from my field inspection it seems that the no theast
corner of the Tekavich property lies not in the axis of the northerly
drainage, as shown on your 2/18 maps, but further to the ea t.
Please re-examine the location of this property and, if in error, show
the correct location on your revised maps.
