~ ~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III <br />GENERAL OVERVIEW <br />The Weld County Public Works Department would like to combine the two land use permits at the <br />Geisert Pit. The existing permits are: USR-847 acrd SUP-369. This site is located at the northeast <br />edge of the City of Greeley, Colorado, at 933 North 11th Avenue and "O" Street. The Weld County <br />Public Works Department is requesting an amendment to the existing mining permit to reduce the <br />area to be mined. Weld County will be constructing an additional 8.2-acre wetland. <br />Mining will continue in [he existing SUP-369 penni[ted area. The only change to this azea would <br />be amending I Ot acres adjacent to I 1 th Avenue on the east end of the permitted area. Portions of <br />this area trave been antrexed by [Ire City of Greeley and will be used as commercial building sites. <br />There are three mining phases associated with the SUP. We are amending Mining Area #3 to reflect <br />l Ot acres. <br />In the USR-847 mining area, the county will construct the 8.2-acre wetland. No other mining will <br />take place within [Iris area. Sonre of the material will be utilized for site grading for the Public <br />Works facility. The existing topsoil in the wetland area will be removed and will be stockpiled for <br />future reclamatiot process. The pit edges will be finished to a 4:] slope. The topsoil will be <br />reintroduced and seeding and reclamation will occur in the fall or spring of 1998 or 1999. <br />
