On revised page Exh-8-166 and in Appendix B of I~olume XI, no riprap is planned for ditch D-J3, although the design velocity is 14.76 ft/sec. It would appear that riprap would be needed for that high of a velocity. Ifyou agree, please provide riprap designs for ditch D-J3. The Division has no further concerns. Page Exh-8-166 was revised in the January 3, 2007 submittal to show that the correct velocity is 4.08 feet/sec. and that riprap is not needed. l5. On Map No. 18, Postmining Topography, there are design ditch details for ditches Q, R and S, which correspond to ditches D-J8-2, D-J9-2 and D-J3 respectively. Not all of the Map No. 18 ditch details correspond with the hydrology design details found on pages Exh-8-166 and Exh-B- 167. Please revise accordingly. Revised Map 18 and revised pages Exh-8-166 and (67 were provided in the January 3, 2007 submittal. However, the design depth values on Map 18 include freeboard. Ditches W-W' and X- X' show depths of 1.1 feet, as shown on page Exh-8-29iii, but they should have depths of 1.4 feet (l.l feet plus 0.3 feet of freeboard), Please revise Map 18 accordingly. The Division has one additional comment concerning Map l8. The post-reclamation ditch designations listed on Map 18 do not correspond to any similarly named operational ditch designs in the permit exhibits. For example, there is no clear way for one to know that the ditch design for ditch Q-Q' on Map 18 is the same as the ditch design for ditch D-J8-2. The Division requests that BRL address this issue. l6. On revised Map No. 22-J, please add a designation for the primary discharge pump on the plan view and remove, if appropriate, the reference to a "valved" dewateringpipe that appears on the embankment cross .section. However, the Division did not notice during the first adequacy review that the concrete ditch cross section on Map 22-J shows a bottom width of one foot while the design on revised page Exh 8-171 uses a bottom width of two feet.
