H-32
•
Songbirds
Species in this group would be affected by some limited loss of nesting
sites and food sources during project construction and operations.
Impacts would vary according to the needs of each species and the areas
disturbed. Becaus~a the well field configuration will result in small
areas of disturbance within large, contiguous areas of habitat, habitat
diversity will increase. The total number of birds which would be
initially affected is expected to be low, and indeed, because addi-
tional habitat will be created due to patchy habitat configuration of
the well field, songbird populations are likely to increase.
Amphibians and Reptiles
Impact on these species is expected to be low because of the few
species observed during the study.
L~
Threatened and Endangered Species
Results of the wildlife studies indicate that, except for occasional
use by bald eagles (Section H.4 ), no threatened or endangered
species occur at the site. No critical or essential habitats for
threatened or endangered species are found within the boundaries of the
project area.
H.7 Mitigation
The rules and regulations promulgated by the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board (CMLRB) in July, 1978, provide reclamation perform-
ance standards for all mining operations. The Regular Mining and
Reclamation Permit--administered by the Mined Land Reclamation Division
~MLRD)--requires that a complete reclamation plan be submitted with the
permit application. The reclamation plan must include a description of
• how the plan will tle implemented as it applies to each requirement of
THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS TRADE SECRETS AND PRIVILEGED, CONFIDENTIAL AND
PROPRIETARY COMMERCIAL, FINANCIAL, GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL DATA AND `,-' ' ~ r •. +
INFORMATION.
