WED 07;09 PM MASSEY SEMENOFF FAX N0, 3038931829 P, 03
Tom Schreiner
I March 6, 2002
Page 2
line and grade to which this area of the slough will be filled. Approximately
3 feet of fill will be placed in this portion of the slough bottom.
3. wll the structure depicted at the intersection of First Creek and
Fulton flitch be capable of handling 200 cfs?
Response
The First Creek channel alignment will not be constructed until the 2005-
0& timeframe. At such time it should be fully capable of handling 200 cfs
flows called for in the Revised Drainage Plan. The channel is shown to
connect to and accept water from two existing culverts located under the
Futfon Ditch. No plans have been made at this time to increase the
capacity of these existing culverts as it was not a requirement of the
approved Reclamation Plan.
4. Please provide infomration on the sequencing of the work d®picted
in the F®bruary 26 plans.
Response
To ensure compliance with the Board's October 26, 2001 Order, work on
the portions of the Bull Seep that are to be realigned and the construction
of the various drop structures, including a structure to be funded by
UDFCD in the Bull Seep Slough, should be completed by March 31, 2002
as necessary to ensure flows of 250 cfs can be conveyed safely around
the Bowe Pit and to the McIntosh and Hazeltine properties to the north
and to the South Platte River.
Backfiiling the portions of the present Bull Seep alignment that will be
abandoned, installation of the "plug" near the South Platte River, and the
widening and sloping of certain existing portions of the Buil Seep
alignment should be completed in April and May 2002.
Final construction of the First Creek alignment will not be completed until
2005-OB. Additional construction design work in this area is necessary to
finalize how the 100-year flood event on First Creek will be routed through
Reservoir B at the site.
We would like to schedule time with you and Carl Mount on Thursday,
March 14 to discuss the goals outlined above in anticipation of conveying
the same to the Board at its March 20 meeting.
