4.5 PAINT <br />4.5.1 PRIMER <br />All fabricated steel piping, fittings and assemblies shall be primed <br />with one coat TNEMEC Epoxoline Primer to three mils dry film <br />thickness. <br />4.5.2 FINISH COAT <br />All fabricated steel piping, fittings and assemblies shall be finished <br />with one coat TNEMEC Epoxoline to four mils dry film thickness <br />and color equivalent to TNEMEC 2010 Eggshell. <br />4,6 POLYETHYLENE CULVERT PIPE <br />4.6.1 The pipe designated on the Drawings as ADS N-12 Culvert Pipe <br />shall be ADS N-12 HDPE pipe as manufactured by Advanced <br />Drainage Systems, Inc., with smooth wall interior and bell and <br />spigot joints. Flare sections shall be used on pipe ends as shown <br />on the Drawings. <br />5 FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION <br />5.1 PIPELINES -GENERAL <br />5.1.1 All pipe and fittings shall be installed in strict conformance with the <br />contract documents and the manufacturer's recommendation in <br />accordance with the appropriate ASTM Specification or other <br />specified industry standard. <br />5.1.2 General <br />5.1.2.1 Inspect each pipe and fitting before backfilling the <br />buried pipe or fitting. Inspect the interior and <br />exterior protective coatings. Patch damaged areas <br />in the field with material similar to the original. <br />Clean ends of the pipe thoroughly. Remove foreign <br />matter and dirt from inside of the pipe and keep it <br />clean during and after laying. <br />5.1.2.2 Handle pipe in a manner to avoid any damage to the <br />pipe.
