Dear Mr. Hunt,
I have reviewed your recent submittal in which you request to add a weed control plan for all the gravel
pits operated by Montrose County, as named above. This addition of a weed control plan is made tltrougli
the technical revision process, but since all sixteen of the county's active permitted gravel sites will 13ave
the same weed control plan, the Division can perform one review for all sites.
The need to add a weed control plan was identified when a Russian kl3apweed infestation was observed
during the Division's November 21, 2000, inspection of the Lee Pit. (The inclusion of a weed control
plan into the Lee Pit permit, and the county's commitment to implement it, satisfy the corrective action
stated in the aforementioned inspection report. That problem is now corrected.)
