LochheaA <br />6ecwive Direaoi <br />M¢hael a Long <br />D~~~swn Dnecior <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section l 16, <br />Paragraph 4, of [he Colorado Revised Statutes, [hat on June 16, 1997, an application to revise coal mining operations <br />at the Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mines was ct7nsidered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods <br />as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. The revision was submitted by Cyprus <br />Empire Corporation. The revision provides for termination of monitoring of areas mined in 1990 through 1993; and <br />suspension of monitoring over areas to be mined in the future and points over development work neaz Highway l3. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles S W of Craig, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, TSN, R91 W; part of Section 1, TSN, R92W: portions of Sections 17, 19, 20, 2l, <br />28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, T6N, R91 W; Portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, T6N, R92W; 6th Prime Meridan. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Round Bottom and Castor <br />Gulch. <br />A copy of [he technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 <br />W Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at [he Division office. [n order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments <br />be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter.
