Long <br /> Division Dnecror <br />Craig, CO 81625 <br />Re: Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mines (Permit No. C-81-044) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 30 <br />Subsidence Monitoring Suspension & Elimination <br />Dear Mc Husband: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on June 16, 1997, an application to revise coal mining operations <br />a[ the Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods <br />as provided in the Act and [he Regulations initiate from this date of filing. The revision was submitted by Cyprus <br />Empire Corporation. The revision provides for termination of monitoring of areas mined in 1990 through 1993; and <br />suspension of monitoring over areas to be mined in the future and points over development work near Highway 13. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles SW of Craig, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, TSN, R91 W; part of Section I, TSN, R92W; portions of Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, <br />28. 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, T6N, R91 W; Portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, T6N, R92W; 6th Prime Meridan. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Round Bottom and Castor <br />Gulch. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection a[ the Moffatt County Courthouse, 221 <br />W Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver. <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments <br />be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter.
