14. Map of release request azea:
• Exhibit 1 shows the location of the bond release request area.
15. Dates reclamation work performed:
Backfilling and grading of the release request azea was performed between Mazch
1980 and May 1996.
16. Description of the reclamation results achieved:
The Moffat Area was mined and reclaimed under the federal Surface Mining
Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA; P.L. 95-87) and the Colorado Surface
Mining Reclamation Act (CSMRA) Regulations (effective August 30, 1980).
Exhibit 2 (submitted herein) shows the as-built postmining topography. Exhibit
3.4-1, Permit C-80-001 (sheet 1 of 2) provides the proposed postmining contours
and final pit configuration. Exhibit 3 provides nine east-west cross-sections and
eight north-south cross-sections showing the proposed and actual postmining
• topography of the azea. The location of these cross-sections aze provided on Exhibit
2. Two additional cross-sections are provided which depict the final pit drainage.
Cross-section R-R' shows the location and topography of the proposed fmal pit
drainage as depicted on Exhibit 3.4-1, Permit C-80-001 while cross-section S-S'
provides the location and topography of the actual final pit drainage. These two
cross-sections were merged into a single drawing to allow a direct comparison of
the proposed and actual final pit drainage.
Reclamation of the Moffat azea consisted of casting the initial box cut spoils along
the southern edge of the mining southwazd. The box cut spoil grading overlapped
onto previously mined ground from which no topsoil was available for salvage.
The final pit was located in approximately the middle of Section 31, TSN, R85W.
The final postmining contours were achieved by shooting the highwall and grading
material from both sides (highwall and spoil) of the pit.
•
