-~
Mr. Rick Mills • •
' Page 2
544,984 cyds needed
245.960 cyds stockpiled
299,024 cyds deficit
add borehole volumes stockpiled
-7750 cvds
291,274 cyds deficit
add projected waste pile deficit
+ 151.542 cyds
442,816 cyd deficit including completed waste pile needs
Permit C-82-056 refers to permit C-81-071 with regard to topsoil redistribution information.
However, information contained in permit C-81-071 is sketchy, poorly presented and much of it is
outdated. As noted above, Map 29 of the Foidel Creek permit is also not current. Prior to approval
of the permanent waste pile TCC needs to demonstrate that:
a) Current available stockpiled topsoil exists in amounts sufficient to cover the current
disturbance to previously approved depths.
bl Additional topsoil will be stripped from the footprint and imported from off-site to
cover the waste pile to a depth of 1.5 feet.
Therefore, the following information is required.
A map depicting all topsoil stockpiles for both C-82-056 and C-81-071. Please assign
names or numbers to each pile if not already done.
/ L~ A map showing all disturbed areas for both C-82-056 and C-81-071, breaking out acreages
\/ where necessary. Topsoil laydown depths should also be provided. These depths should
be based on a previously approved reclamation plan. Also, please provide permit page
reference when referring to existing information.
3. A chart indicating each pile, its current volume, and supporting calculations to verify
volumes li.e., survey data, etc.). This should be as a permit page.
4. Area 2 topsoil laydown data to support an average existing depth of 1 .5 feet.
DMG concern No. 6 -TCC response accepted.
It is apparent that once again we will need an extension of the proposed decision date. Please
forward a written request for an extension to a date which will allow at least 10 working days for
Division review. Please call me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Kent Gorham
Reclamation Specialist
KG/yjb
cc: David Berry
m:\oss\yjb\mills
