unclear as to subsidence monitoring requirements. It appears
to state that monitoring is required but no such monitoring
was found. DMG has informed me that subsidence monitoring
requirements were dropped in 1988. DMG will require the mine
plan be revised to reflect the status of the current
subsidence monitoring.
Pond Inspections: The last quarterly pond inspection for ponds
T-1, T-2 and Long was conducted on 06/15/94. Although most of the information pertaining to
the mine is stored there, a complete record was not available.
Inspection and bond release documents were not on file at the
courthouse. All public documents relating to the mine site
must be made available and are required to be kept with the
mine plan. DMG should review the file and insure that the
company place all required document at the courthouse.
FIELD REVIEW
Signs and Markers: The mine identifications signs were posted
at the entrance to the mine and the haul road to the truck
dump.
