1
EXI-IIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
' 23 ROAD PTT
AMENDMENT ~2
PERMIT # M-79-089
The historic drainage of the site is from the northeast to the south west with the surface drainage
and "tail" water from the irrieated field draining in[o the existing pond located adjacent to the south
' boundary of the pit. When mining is completed the mined area will connect into the existing pond
which will have a combined surface area of approximately 19 acres. All surface drainage
immediately adjacent to the site and the processing site located to the north will drain into the
t pond. No surface drainage will leave the site.
The site is located near the Colorado River which contributes to the water table beine
' approximately six feet below the existing ground elevation. Dewatering will be required to mine the
sand and gravel deposit. Ground water will be pumped to a drainage ditch operated by the Grand
' Junction Drainage District. See attached letter from [he District. A Discharge Petmit will be
applied for from the Colorado Department of Health. The estimated flow during dewatering will
be from 200 to 800 gpm depending on the time of the year and the amount of previously mined
' area requiring dewatering.
There are no known potable water wells near the permit area. The area is served domestic water
' by the Ute Water District.
A Well Permit will be applied for from the Colorado Division of Water Resources to expose
' grottnd water.
The estimated water required during the mining operation is 3000 gallons per day and
' approximately 250,000 gallons annually. Ground water will be filed for as pan of the Well Permit
for dust control.

1

1
1
