' EXHIBIT D <br />MINWG PLAN <br />' Z3 ROAD PIT <br />AMENDMENT #2 <br />PERMfT # M-79-089 <br />The purpose of this Amendment is to add 19.7 acres to the existing Permit. The azea to be added <br />' is located in the West'/ of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 5, Township I <br />South„ Range 1 West of the Ute Meridian. See Exhibit C-l. <br />t The total area to be mined contains 14.2 acres. A 200 foot mining setback will be maintained along <br />the north property line for use as a stockpile site for topsoil, overburden and processed grave] <br />products. A 60 foot mining setback will be maintained from the center of 23 Road and a 30 foot <br />t ntirting setba[;k along the east property line. See Exhibit C. The azea will be mined iu two or three <br />Phases starting nn the north and proceeding to the south. The topsoil and overburden from Phase I <br />azea will be stripped and stockpiled on the north side of the pit area. After the sand and gravel has <br />' been removed from Phase I azea, the stockpiled overburden will be used to backlill the previsouly <br />mined from north to south to its present elevation.The crusher and processed gravel stockpiles for <br />Phase I mining azea will be located on the south side of pit in the Phase III area. Overburden from <br />' Phase II and -I will be used to complete the backfilling of Phase I azea. The mitring of Phase III <br />will connect into the existing pond located on the south side of the property. Crushing for Phase III <br />will take place in the bottom of the pit with the processed material being stockpiled on the north <br />' stockpile area and the backfilled portion of Phase I. <br />The overburden on the site averages twelve feet in depth. The depth of the sand aztd gravel deposit <br />t is approximately ten feet with the underlying material being Mancos Shale. <br />Mining will be done using tiont end loaders, hydraulic excavators, dozers and trucks. <br />Muting will start in the spring of 1998 after all permits have been obtained "Che time required to <br />' mine, crush and stockpile each Phase will be two to three months. A Phase will produce enough <br />material to ias[ one to two years. The life of the pit will be three to six years. <br />' The primary product to he mined is sand and gravel.
