I EXHIBIT D
Mining Plan
The operator proposes to quarry granitic gneiss through drilling
and blasting on 40-foot benches. ~
A series of seven benches is proposed. Mining of each bench
will be conducted in two 40-foot increments. Initially, the rock
will be drilled to a depth of 40 feet, blasted, and loosened materials
will be trucked to an on-site production plant for processing. Sub-
sequently, drilling will be repeated along the same vertical plane
for an additional 40 feet and the rock will again be blasted and re-
moved. The resulting benches will be 40 feet wide and backed by a
sub-vertical 80-foot highwall. J
Mining will commence in the southern portion of the site and will
proceed in a counterclockwise manner toward the center of the quarry.
I
Typical equipment used in the quarry will include the following:
• 2 Haulers, 35 - 50 ton Eucs
• 1 Front end loader, 10 cy
• 1 6" Drill, CP650 DTH
The processing plant consists of feeders, be]t conveyors, vibrating
screens, classifying equipment, crushers and power units, all arranged
on steel support structures.
