Near-horizontal 40-foot wide
~ \} benches will lie between each 80-foot escarpment.
Gradin
A mixture of salvaged topsoil, quarry fines and organic matter
will be used to restore a growth medium to the site. This material
will be spread over the area to be reclaimed and graded as Shown in
Exhibit F. Movement of machinery across the s]ope will compact the
PAGE 10
soil. The compacted materials will enhance the stability of the adaa-
cent highwalls.
Topsoiling
The mixture of topsoil, quarry fines and organic matter will be
tested by a qualified soil laboratory and appropriate amendments will
be made in order to ensure that an adequate medium is provided. The
fertilized medium will be distributed on the site to a minimum depth
of 12 inches.
A mulch will be applied in order to retain available moisture.
In finish grading, creation of a rough surface that is somewhat coarse
and variable will further aid in moisture retention. Irrigation prior
to seeding will bring the soil to its maximum water-holding capacity
and enhance the success of the revegetation program.
Reve9etation
Revegetation of the site will commence once the growth medium
has been tested and fertilized as necessary. Slopes will be seeded
by incorporating the seed into a hydro-mulch application. The seed
mixture recommended for the site i5 a5 follows:
E-2
