sandstone at a depth of 6" to 12". Seeding will be done with a mixture of Indian ricegrass
and Annual rye.
Phase IV Areas 6 and 7 will be stripped and mined. The topsoil will be removed, stockpiled,
preserved and vegetated in Area A or used immediately in reclamation. The sandstone
and overburden material will be stripped and stockpiled in front of area A, or in area D,
or used as back611 in reclamation. This phase is expected to require 10 years. The total
area worked is expected to be 37 acres.
Phase V Limestone will be removed from the remaining portion of Area 11 while roadways and
other pre-74 disturbance is mined and reclaimed. This is expected to require 10 years.
The total area worked at this time is expected to be 30 acres. Reclamation will continue
concurrently with mining through this phase whenever possible as outlined in Phase VI.
Phase VI Reclamation will be completed during this phase. The sandstone overburden will be
pushed back into the excavation left by the limestone leveled and contoured to a slape of
less than 2 to 1. The topsoil will be leveled over the sandstone to a depth of 8" to 12".
The area will be seeded with a mixture of indian ricegrass wheat grass, mountain
mahogany and rabbit brush, to be hand broadcast at 18 Ibs per acre, in the spring. This
will be accomplished within 5 years of completion of mining.
At some point, if necessary, Area C may be stripped of topsoil which will be stockpiled in Area A. This
area will be used for crushing and stockpiling. This will be done, if necessary, in Phase III or later.
Because of the construction of the Rex-Roberts Road in 1997 (as approved by DMG), it may not be
necessary to use Area C: if that is the case the Area will not be stripped.
EXHIBIT D.
