The topsoil from the
lower area will be removed first and stockpiled in Area A (Marked TS on some maps).
The topsoil will be preserved and vegetated with annual rye and Indian ricegrass. The
sandstone over- burden will be drilled and shot. It will then be stripped and piled in front
of Area A. Limestone will be removed from areas 8, 9 and 10 and W 1/4 of area 11. The sandstone and
overburden material will be stripped and piled in front of A, or placed in area D, or
placed in areas which have been mined out as backfill to facilitate concuttent
reclamation. At present market conditions, this phase will last for 5 years. The area
worked at this time will be approximately 16 acres.
Phase III Areas 1, 2 and 3 will be stripped and mined. This phase is expected to last
approximately 5 years at current market conditions. The area worked at this time will be
approximately 15 acres.
