i
TRAPPER MINE RESPONSE TO PR-1 ADEQUACY RESPONSE DOCUMENT
May, 1987
8. Mine Plan
To evaluate the overall effects of the proposed revision, the Division
will need a mine plan for the Colt and Browning Pits. This plan is
needed to evaluate the adequacy of the proposed sediment control system.
The application must also include a map showing the proposed final grad-
ing within the area in order to determine if the permit area will be
returned to its approximate original contour.
Response
Trapper Mine met with Division staff on April 30, 1987. At that meeting,
it was agreed that a complete mine plan would not be necessary. The list
of activities detailed in PR-1 is only for 1987 and does not include
spoiling of overburden or extraction of coal. Based on the activities
proposed in PR-1 for 1987, the existing maps as contained in PR-1 are
adequate to evaluate proposed sediment control structures. If more
detail is required, the Division should reference TR-36, 1987 Pond
Construction.
Also, it was agreed that the existing topographic maps which show the
proposed undisturbed Colt Pit area would be adequate for the work to be
covered by PR-1. Trapper suggests that Map PRI-MIO-H be designated as
the postmine contour map in the event the proposed 1987 disturbance for
Colt Pit must be reclaimed prior to coal extraction. A postmine contour
map showing projected regraded topography for Colt Pit after coal extrac-
tion is in PR-2, currently pending approval.
