RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT E
1. General Plan
The disturbed azea to be mined and reclaimed in the pit expansion for the 2007 Amendment will
be 16.0 acres. The total disturbed area for the site is as follows:
Main existing pit azea: 51.8 acres
Employee housing area: 2.78 acres
Expansion Area: 16.0 acres
Total Disturbed Area: 70.6 acres.
These areas are shown on Maps C-1 and C-2. It is noted that the total disturbed area is never
fully exposed at any time during the life of the pit, sue to the efforts of contemporaneous
reclamation.
The post-mining land use for the entire permit area will be dry rangeland. As described in the
Mine Plan section on imported material, considerable fill has been brought to the site in recent
years. This material is being used to fill the northern sections of the mined out existing pit. Since
the amount of imported material in the future is not known and the amount of fill resold is also
not known, it is not possible to predict the actual post-mining contour. Map F-1 shows the worst
case final contour, with maximum excavation and the assumption that all fill will be sold from
the pit. Any additional overburden and topsoil will be placed on the pit floor in order to create
more flat area since flat land is more usable and will achieve a better vegetative cover.
The site which exists at the start of 2007 is the worst case reclamation scenario because it
involves the most backfilling. The entire east side of the existing pit is approximately 1H:1 V,
and must be restored to 3H:1 V. This slope is approximately 1250 feet long, therefore, this is the
largest cost. It involves the backfilling of approximately 255,000 cubic yards of fill. Once mining
starts in the expansion area, this slope will be mined out to a 3H:1 V grade and the reclamation
Yagneur Pit June 07 E-1
