At CRDA-l, refuse hasybeen.spread and graded ori'portions of the workirigcbench, with truck <br />dumped. piles recently deposited on other areas. Al>iiough not final graded; Terrace Drain #4 has <br />been `'roughed in"along its entire length. Operator indicated that Lower Catch Ditch #2 <br />would be regraded :is specified in NOV 97-016 Abatement Item #5. Various locations along the <br />South Diversion ~chiih had been cited in the NOV were viewed in response to the operator's <br />contention that thr Division had assumed inappropriate vegetation cover class in recent ditch <br />design reviews. W'Itile ground cover percentage appeazed to be consistent with Division <br />assumptions (AO-GO"/o), it was noted that cover was provided almost exclusively by low growing, <br />shallow rooted annual species: primarily cheatgrass and Russian thistle. Noah Decline areas ripped and reseeded in the fall of 1996 <br />were dominated thi: ~~rowing se:uon b~ cheatgrass and annual weedy species, as is typical for a <br />first tear seeding. Uevelopnum of [he stand will be evaluated over the next several growing <br />seasons. Deer and elk sign was abundant in the North Decline area. Chukar partridge ate <br />frequently ohsen ed in the North Decline area and CRDA-2 reclaimed areas. <br />
