Eastside Coal Company, Inc. <br />PO Box 701007 <br />San Antonio, TX 78270-1007 <br />(210) 490-4788 <br />has filed an application for a renewal to the existing permit, C-84-063, with the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology to conduct underground coal mine reclamation operations in Section 24, TSS, R 92 W, 6`h P.M. <br />Garfield County, Colorado, more specifically described as follows: <br />Commencing at a point which bears S6°25'08"W, 483'+/- from the NE comer of Section 24, thence south a <br />distance of 905'+/-; thence S90°27'34"E a distance of 2650'+/-; thence south a distance of 975'+/-; thence west <br />a distance of 4160'+/-; thence N50°23'22"E a distance of 2662'+/-; thence S90°04'26" a distance of 2030'+/- to <br />the point of beginning. <br />The existing underground mine is located approximately 3.5 miles north of Silt, Colorado. Access to the site is <br />via Garfield County Road 237 (Harvey Gap Road). The existing disturbed area is approximately 1500 feet <br />south of the Grass Valley reservoir. The Silt Quadrangle, 7.5 Minute series, contains the area described above. <br />The application is to renew an existing permit for a five year term beginning January 14, 2000. <br />A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse, Glenwood <br />Springs, Colorado and the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, Denver, Colorado.
