Throughout the course of the mining at this facility it would be very difficult to delineate exact 100 acre
stages or phases on the mining plan. The methods of mining this facility will create a situation where the
reclamation will occur in the same sequence as the mining. As soon as mining is completed, reclamation
work will take place immediately.
Current mining and reclamation at this facility will occur in the following approximate acreages
30 Acres current mining
20 Acres on grade- stockpile area
20 Acres on grade under reclamation
20 Acres reclaimed and seeded
10 Acres on grade -plant sites
As well, there are different types of material throughout the site, therefore [here will be a need to extract
different materials from different areas of the pemutted area limiting the ability to work in designated
phases.
As stated, reclamation of the plant areas around the asphalt or batch plants is not being revised.
Containment berms will be maintained at all times in all areas where there is active mining, plan[ sites, or
stockpile areas.
In compliance with Exhibit S (Rule 6.4.19) we are committed to maintaining a 200 foot set back from all
existing easements to include [he power substation, man made structures, and the Minnequa Canal or
provide a notarized agreement or engineering evaluation as allowed by Rule 6.4. I (a)
Exhibit 7. Exhibit E: The final land use will be returned to rangeland. Final grading will be carried out so
U as to create gentle slopes and flat land areas to be used for grazing. When placing excess fines and
overburden, materials will be placed in a number of lifts and compacted with robber tire machines or other
equipment so as to ensure adequate compaction of the soils to reduce the likelyhood of erosion in the
future.
Berms that are adjacent to steep slopes will be removed once mining has been completed in those areas.
The ground in those areas will be sloped back toward the slope in order to contain any storrrtwater mnoff
from those slopes. As well, small benches or berms will be left across the length of the slopes in order to
slow down the flow of storm water and reduce the erosion on the slopes as a result of stormwater flows.
Overburden and topsoil materials that are to be placed on areas to be reclaimed are expected to average a
thickness of 6 inches. This may vary depending on [he amount of material available in different areas of
the pit and the balance of materials. We will ensure that there is adequate material thickness to provide for
an effective seedbed for re-vegetation. Material will be placed in lifts and compacted as necessary by the
use of rubber tire, or other equipment.
If topsoil or overburden piles have not been placed on reclamation areas within one year, we will plant one
or more of the recommended seed species to provide adequate stabilization of the piles.
Methods of weed control Weed control methods will be implemented as needed. These methods will be
carried out as recommended by the Fremont County Weed Board.
Item 8. Exhibit F: Mining boundary has been removed from the maps. This has been labeled as permit
boundary. As mentioned earlier, this is the same as the affected land boundary.
Item 9. Exhibit S: As noted, we will maintain a 200' set back from the canal, substation, or man made
structures. This will be 100' from either side of the centerline. This has also been shown on the maps
U included in this response. We will not be maintaining a 200' set back from fence lines that surround the
permitted area. These fences will be maintained by us as needed throughout the course of the mining.
