Flora: mixed scrub oak/serviceberrv thickets, aspen groves, and sa¢ebrush meadows with conifer stands <br />on some protected or north facing slopes <br />20. Soils/Geology: residual sandy )Dams formed on Paleocene and lower Eocene clavstone, mudstone. <br />sandstone and conglomerate of the Wasatch Formation (hieher mesas and ridges) Upper Cretaceous <br />sandstone and coal beds of the Mesa Verde FotTnation, and, on lower slopes. Upper Cretaceous Mancos <br />Shale (shale generally outside immediate proiect areal <br />21. Ground Visibility: poor to eood (10-40%) on slopes fair to very good (30-70%1 on high flats and <br />ridgetops -visibility in high flats enhanced by game/cattle trails and bedding azeas <br />22. Comments: most of the areas of Door to fair visibility are very steep slopes greater than 30% grade. <br />with many slide zones• sandstone faces and exposures on slopes were "crumbly" and friable with no <br />overhangs or stable faces that would reserve rock art <br />
