• 5.1.1.10 Nalco 7873 <br />Description: Nalco 7873 is a flocculant used in the milling process. <br />Location: Approximately 2 drums are stored in the Moly Wazehouse. <br />Spill Potential: Low. <br />Potential Volume Spilled: Most likely amount would be one drum. <br />Prevention and Control: Operator Gaze when loading or unloading drums is the best procedure <br />for prevention of a spill. <br />Countermeasures: Nalco 7873 is a slimy substance and can best be cleaned up by mixing it <br />with floor dry, sand, or loose, dry soil. Once mixed together the resultant mixture can be <br />shoveled into a plastic bag or drum and disposed of in Climax' landfill with the approval of <br />Climax' Environmental Department. <br />Nearest Clean-up Equipment: A spill kit is located in the west end of the mill building. <br />Visual Inspections and Integrity Testing: Drums of Nalco 7873 aze checked daily during <br />. milling operations. When the mill is shut down the Nalco 7873 drums are checked weekly. <br />Reporting: All spills of Nalco 7873 which threaten waters of the State of Colorado aze subject <br />to the requirements of Sections 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 of this SPCC Plan. All spills of 5 gallons or <br />more should be reported to the Environmental Department by using the "Spill Incident Report" <br />form given in Appendix 1. <br />Conformance with Applicable Requirements: The storage and containment of Nalco 7873 is <br />in conformance with applicable regulatory requirements. <br />23 <br />
