San Luis Protect • <br />E.1 SCOPE OF DOCUMENT <br />These technical specifications comprise the Specifications for construction of the diversion <br />channel system at the East Pit azea of the San Luis Mine. <br />The Design Drawings referred to in these Specifications fotTn a necessary component of the <br />Specifications. <br />E.1.2 Definitions <br />For these Specifications, Owner is referred to as Battle Mountain Resources, Ia¢. (BMRI) with <br />overall responsibility for construction, operation, closure; and reclamation. <br />The Contractor is defined as the group (or groups) selected by BMRI and responsible for <br />conductia; the work tasks outlined in Specification Section E.1.3 under the direction of and <br />under contract with BMRI. <br />The Field Engineer is defined as the person appointed by BMRI responsible for inspection and <br />Quality Assurance (QA) testing of construction work to ensure that facilities az¢ constructed as <br />outlined in these Specifications. <br />The Professional Engineer is defined as a Professional Engineer appointed by BMRI with current <br />registration in Colorado responsible for ensuring that construction work and inspection and QA <br />testing of construction is conducted according to these Specifications and the intept of the design. <br />E.1.3 Scope of Work <br />The work outlined in these Specifications consists of execution of the following tasks associated <br />with construction of the facilities. <br />• Construction of the diversion channels. <br />• Installation of the HDPE liner, including deployment of materials, seaming, and <br />anchoring. <br />• Installation/placement of gabion baskets in steeply sloped areas. <br />E.1.4 Applicable Regtilations and Standards <br />The work shall conform to applicable Federal, State, and County regulations. Tasting procedures <br />shall conform to applicable ASTM standards, as documented in the edition of standazds in force <br />at the start of work. <br />E.1.5 Inspection and Quality Assurance <br />Full-time, oa-site inspection of all construction activities and quality assuraACe (QA) testing <br />outlined in these Specifications shall be conducted by the Field Engineet (and approved <br />assistants as needed) while the construction work is in progress.
