I have broke down the responses according to the attachment
sequence in the original violation.
Attachment I: Weekly Field Monitoring
The majority of the' deficiencies identified
resulted in the lack of information concerning discharge analysis
for sediment ponds or mine discharge points. In most cases, the
information was not available due to a lack of discharge at that
location. During this period in time, if there was no discharge,
a blank was left on the weekly report sheet. All discharges were
recorded and pertinent information was attained. The remaining
incidents of no information involve sites which are not active such
as pond 005, or in which sampling is required only monthly, site
080.
Attachment II: Monthly Field Data
The primary deficiency for these sites involve
lack of flow measurements. Through an earlier verbal agreement
with parties of the state and the mine, it was determined that
staff gauge readings at these locations would suffice for actual
flow measurements. No definitive flow measurements were taken
relying instead on the staff gauge readings. The staff gauge
readings give a relative flow comparison. All other data
identified in this section can be found in the Annual Hydraulic
Report.
