I!1. fomments - Compliance
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments includr. dizcussiun of
o~~servations mane during tyre inspection. Conments also descriue any
enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
pond had recently been discharged.
MB-2: At the time of the inspection, water from MB-6 was being
pumped into MB-2. Flocculent was being added at the
inlet to MB-2. The other inlet to MB-2 was flowing.
Flocculent was also being added and settling immediately
upon entering the pond.
MB-3: At the time of the inspection MB-3 held a small amount of
water.
MB-4: The operator is considering installing an oil skimmer in
MB-4. In addition, a gated principal spillway is being
considered. A revision would be required to install
either of the items. Hay bales located across the
emergency spillway should be removed, or designs should
be provided.
MB-5: Water level was over the gated opening, but the pond was
not discharging.
MB-6: The pond had begun to be cleaned prior to the rainstorm.
Material pushed out of the pond should be removed and
transported to the refuse pile. This task began prior to
the conclusion of the inspection. Water was being pumped
to MB-2 in attempt to further dry out the pond so
cleaning could continue.
4
