The success rate was 0%. <br />Band scattering seeds has had the best success rate. <br />Over burden materials up until late 1991 were pushed down hill off of the limestone in big stockpiles <br />end then Later loaded into haul trucks with a front end and hauled back to the areas drat had bcen mined <br />out and stockpiled. In 1991 some contouring of the stnckpilcs was started. <br />Listed below rare the acreages that have been reclaimed and what methods were used. <br />Rex Quarry Reclamation: <br />1993 <br />1.~2 acres East of the Flne grind plant: Shot rock overburden materials wcrc hauled to this area, <br />contotued and hydra seeded in the spring of 43. No fertilizer ar soil amendments were used on this <br />area. The grasses were some what slow to get starred do to dry conditions. This area fins more grass <br />cover every year. Today the Success to looks to be about 70"/o to 75% wvcr. <br />1995 <br />1.79 acres southeast of the north road cut :Shot rock over burden materials were hauled to dtis tuna <br />contoured turd hydra seeded in the till of 1995. No fertilizer or soil amendments wcrc rued on this <br />area. 'Rte {passes were slow to start in this area do to very dry conditions. Success looks to be about <br />40°J" and may need sonic additional soil amentLuenu and seed. <br />.10 acres at the south bnondary Itne of the Rex quarry bordering the north boundary of the Owl <br />Canyon Quarry: <br />Shot rock over burden materials were hauled to this arcs, contoured sloping west and north. Beet dirt <br />was spread across the top of this arcs et a average dcptll of 2" to 6". This area wag drill seeded and <br />erlmped alth a bay mulch to the fa{I of 1995. Success rate today looks to be about 759°. <br />1997 <br />1.33 acres south of the 1.79 acres that was reclaimed in 1995 and still south of the ooRL road cut: <br />Shot rock over burden materials wereltauled to this area, Conlenred sloping west. Some topsoil combined <br />with beet dirt was spread over the top of this area avuagirrg 2" w 6" in depth. This area was drW seeded <br />and crimped with a Lay mulch io the epring of 1997. No fertilizers or soil additives wets usCd on this <br />area. Success looks to be about 75%. <br />1998 <br />1.32 seers to the east, north and aout6 of the I.SS acres seeded in 1997: Shot rock over burden <br />materials were hauled to this area and contoured, t3cct dirt was spread across lltis area at depths averaging <br />2" to 6". This azea was drill seeded in the spring of 1998. No fcrtili~ers or soil additives wcrc used on this <br />area. The Success rate is too early to tell. A lot of weeds have grown in this area and will be sprayed to <br />control them for next years growth. <br />
