Exhibit D Mining Plan (contl
We expect to start on the west side and northern end of the
new area and mine to the south. IN the western parcel the gravel
is a little courser, so mining will take place on two faces to
supply the product needed in our business. The depth of the sand
and gravel is 25 to 40 feet deep in this area. The estimated
direction of mining is shown as a series of arrows on the Mining
Plan Map. Mining will begin in each area by stripping topsoil
and overburden, if any, from an area large enough to begin
mining. An explanation of how mining is done on this site can be
found in the Mining Plan text in the 1996 application packet.
The slopes will be created as mining progresses around the mine
perimeter. Waste material, and overburden will be used to
rebuild the exterior slopes as mining progresses across the site.
This will reduce the amount of backfilling work needed at any one
time. Please see Map Exhibit C-1 for how the area may look as
mining progresses through it.
No more than 600 feet of exterior slope will need
backfilling at any-one-time. The working face is at its maximum
width as mining comes to a close on the south end of the site,
approximately 2,240 feet long. No additional setback will be
needed around the perimeter of the mined area because McAtee does
not use a cut/fill method of slope creation for the exterior
slopes. If mining ended prematurely, the working face would be
reduced to 3:1 using a cut/fill method instead of backfilling as
noted for the side slopes.
AMENDMENT 2 - Revised Mininy Timetable
ACRES. ...
PHASE YEARS MINED MINING 51.OPE
'0
EXISTING AREA 3-5 37.40 35.19 2.21
NEW AREA 10-18 63.02 54.45 8.57
TOTALS 100.42 89.64 10.78
