In order to complete the review process and obtain
the required approvals, the following summarizes relevant considerations and identifies the
relevant new or revised information that accompanies this transmittal:
Minor Revision MR-48, Allocation of Bond Sureh' -Revised bond calculation sheets
(pages 1, 9, 10 and Task 92 documemation as referenced in 2/9/99 memo from Janet
Binns) for replacement/insertion in Appendix E, Volume 7. Please note that bonding
coverage for NOI's CX•98-223-00, CX-98-223-O1, attd the CX-98-223-01 Amendment
covers a total of 21 drillholes (10 - 223-00; 9 - 223-01; and 2 - 223-01 Amendment),
rather than 23 as indicated by the DMG meeting summary (Hernandez, 4/26/99)
provided viafax.
Minor Revision MR-49, Pond A Removal and SAE (Approved) -Two additional
copies of Map E-3211
Minor Revision MR-50, Emergency Actions Related to Control of Mine Fire -
Referencing my 3/12/99 letter to Bill Carter, stand-alone revision pages were provided
with the letter to break out those activities specifically covered under MR-50 with the
commitment that revisions would be incorporated verbatim into the permit document
at a later date when other related revisions were finalized. Additional revised text and
map addressing the relocated road above the Sanborn Creek Mine portals accompanies
this submittal. In order to finalize this Minor Revision, the following respond to Janet
Binns' bonding questions as outlined in her 3/8/99 memo to Dan Hernandez:
IJ Oxbow states that 0.3 an~es of horro~e~ area ~rere disturbed. Hour deep did the} disturb
this area? I am unable to discern a volume for regrading.
Response: By the nature of both the terrain and the required emergency borrow
activities, disturbance depth varied significantly. It would, however, be reasonable
to assume that a regrading depth of 2 to 3 feet would be adequate to reestablish a
stable configuration and blend with the surrounding terrain.
P.O.
