Bor. 20000-5022 Grand Junction, CO 81502 The Par ken son Construction Company is applying for an expansion of their gravel pits located at 31?~ and G4 Roads and at 32 and Cg Roads. I would like to inform you that I oppose this e:pansion. I believe the expansion will increase dramatically the number of trucks that travel this road now (100+ per day). I am an older person whose sight and refleees are not as rapid as they once were. There is a slight hill within a short distance of my house. When they come over the hill, it is very difficult for me to complete my entrance into C road if they rise over the hill at the same time that I begin my entry. I also feel that school children may be affected by the speeds traveled, especially if the number of trucks increase dramatically as planned. My neighbors tell me that fruit trees and crops on the surrounding properties have been damaged. In fact, it is my understanding that there have been financial settlements due to this. If the expansion were to occur, it Trill only make this prob'_em :rorse. Furthermore, I believe that Parkenson.Construction has not followed their agreement. They have violated traffic safety regulations, traversed on routes other than the agreed-upon route, and not kept tt~e pits sprinkled as required. I walk daily and see the effects on the roadways other than the one that was re^,urfaced last year. ' I also would like to call your attention to the fact that my name will appear on a petition supporting this expansion. Please remove my name. After learning the facts, I do not agree with what their lawyer told me. I ask that you do not recommend this expansion.
