I inadvertently neglected to have Oakridge Energy verify whether all the information
currently provided in Section 2.03.4 of the permit is still accurate. The permit sections
that needed particular attention are 2.03.4(3)(a), 2.03.4(3)(b), 2.03.4(3)(c), 2.03.4(3)(d),
2.03.4(3)(e), 2.03.4(4)(a), 2.03.4(4)(b), 2.03.4(6), 2.03.4(7), and 2.03.4(9).
All that is needed is for Oakridge to state that all the information that is in the Carbon
Junction permit that addresses these sections of the Regulations is up to date and
accurate. Please have Oakridge Energy verify this or send corrections if needed.
3. Section 2.03.10 of the Board's Regulations requires every permit application to contain a
list of all other licenses and permits needed by the applicant to conduct the proposed
surface mining activities. This section of the regulations requires this list to identify each
type of license or permit, the name and address of the issuing authority, the
identification numbers of the applications for those permits or licenses (or, if issued, the
identification numbers of the permits or licenses), and if a decision was made, the date
of approval or disapproval by each issuing authority.
a. Our records indicate that Oakridge is conducting monitoring at four wells within the/
Carbon Junction Mine area. According to Dave Nelson, Commissioner for Water
District 30 in Durango, all monitoring wells require valid, existing permits. ~
According to his records, however, only one permit appears to currently exi ~ %
Nelson has recommended we ask Oakridge Energy for the permit informa+~
rules require for the four wells they are conducting monitoring from. j
