Recommend the applicant be requested to clarify the submittal as follows:
Please provide a large scale plan for the site, with a cross section that illustrates the
relationship of natural slopes, cut and fill slopes for the drill pad if appropriate (if none,
confirm that the pad will be placed at a 12.24% slope), the mud pits, the circumferential
berm, and the design storage capacity of internal runoff.
Runoff from the uphill and side reaches of the berm outslopes would flow off the berm into
circumferential ditch flows, with point discharges on both sides. Upland runoff above the
site would combine with these flows from off the berm. Please re-design the analysis to
address these flows. Include how ditch flow would be managed across the access road to
the site (through the berm). Please correct or explain the use of a stiffness factor of 20 for
fescue grasses (usually near 2.0).
Please discuss how water contained behind the berm will be managed.
Cc: Dan Hernandez
C:\wpdocs\m r 161 rvs.056.doc
Page 3 of 3 pages
