MANAGEMENT
Enclosed is an application for a minor revision to provide for the construction of a drill
site which will be located immediately above the ventilation fans and below the rock
catchment berm. The following data are provided to support this minor revision
application:
Reiated Permit Actions
Technical revision TR-35 provides for mining in the B-Seam. The drill site will be used to
develop a raise bore shaft between the B-Seam and D-Seam. The drill hole may also be
used for utilities such as power, water, etc.
Project Description
This technical revision will provide for the construction of a small drill site above the utility
bench. The area had previously been cleared of vegetation (combustible material)
because it was within a certain distance of the mine ventilation fans. However, topsoil has
not been removed. The small bench requires topsoil removal and a minor amount of cut
and fill, approximately 1,100 cubic yards.
The drill hole is to be 15-inches in diameter and a total of 550-feet deep. The shaft to be
raise bored from the B-Seam to the D-Seam will be 16-feet in diameter by 335-feet. After
the shaft is excavated, the remaining drill hole is 215-feet deep.
Culvert C-Ci will be extended up under the new light use road. A separation in the
culverts will be provided so the flow from ditch D-C1 can flow into culvert C-C1.
