<br />2.4 Access Roads <br />• The access roads adjacent to the evaporation azea, holding pond, and evaporative sprayers will <br />allow one-way access for maintenance. The roads have an overall slope of approximately 1.5 <br />percent with a top width of 10 feet. The roads aze approximately 2 feet high with side slopes of <br />3H:1V. <br />2.5 Diversion Channel <br />The diversion channel was designed to intercept the 100-yeaz, 24-hour storm runoff from the <br />drainage basins north of the evaporation azea and route the water azound the evaporation facility <br />to dischazge downstream of the holding pond. The design incorporated three different slopes <br />along its length: 1.7 percent from Station 0+00 to Station 1+74; 0.8 percent from Station 1+74 to <br />Station 10+00; and 0.7 percent from Station 10+00 to Station 14+06, the tie-in to existing <br />ground. During excavation, fractured bedrock was encountered between Stations 3+00 and <br />6+00. To facilitate construction, the design of the channel was changed from three slope <br />segments to two, with the transition point at approximately Station 5+50. <br />• The as-built average slope of the channel bottom is approximately 1.1 percent from Station 0+00 <br />to Station 5+50, and approximately 0.8 percent from Station 5+50 to Station 12+00, the tie-in <br />point to existing ground.
