• 1.0 INTRODUCTION
This document presents the as-built condition of the evaporation system at the San Luis Project
located neaz San Luis, Colorado. This report discusses key features of the as-built construction,
presents construction quality assurance (CQA) and control results, and provides supporting
documentation in the appendices. As-built drawings of the evaporation system aze also included.
The controlling documents for the construction of the evaporation system ware the Interim
Evaporation Pond System Design Report (BMRI, 1999) and the Battle Mountain Resources
Technical Revision Number 26 (BMRI, 1999). The methods of CQA testing, documentation,
and design modification were according to the procedures outlined in the construction
specifications presented in Appendix C of the design report.
Construction of the evaporation system was performed under contract by SLV Earth Movers,
Inc. of Monte Vista, Colorado, and included prepazation of subgrade, excavation of borrow
material, placement of fill, and construction of the piping system. Liner installation was
• performed by National Seal Company of Reno, Nevada. Earthwork CQA and overall project
engineering services were provided by Shepherd Miller, Inc (SMI).
The work was performed between June 4 and July 14, 1999. The diversion ditch was constructed
between June 4 and 9, with riprap placement between June 14 and 18. Earthworks in the holding
pond and evaporation azea were completed between June 7 and June 15. Liner installation
commenced June 14 in the evaporation azea and was complete in the holding area on June 24.
The evaporators and appurtenant pipeline, pumps and electrical equipment were installed
between June 14 and July 1. Detail plumbing and electrical, commissioning, and final
troubleshooting were completed by July 14.

Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. I August 20, 1999
