<br />(a) "G ranutar Crlple superphosphate
<br />storage faclllty" means any facility
<br />curing or storing granular triple super-
<br />phosphate,
<br />(b) "Total fluorides" means elemen-
<br />tal fluorine and ell fluoride com-
<br />pounds as measured 6y reference
<br />methods specified In 4 60.244, or equly
<br />slant or alternative methods.
<br />(c) "Equivalent P,O, stored" means
<br />the quantity oI phosphorus, expressed
<br />as phosphorus pentoxide, belne cured
<br />or stored In the affected faclllty.
<br />(d) "Fresh granular Crlple super
<br />phosphate" means granular triple su•
<br />perpllosphate produced no more than
<br />10 days prior to the date of the per-
<br />formance test.
<br />860.242 Standard for nuorides.
<br />(a) On and after the date on which
<br />the performance test required to be
<br />conducted by 4 60.8 Is completed, no
<br />owner or operator subJect to the Drovl-
<br />slons of this subpart shall cause to be
<br />discharged Into Lhe atmosphere from
<br />any affected faclllty any gases which
<br />contain total fluorides In excess of 0.25

<br />C 60.243 Afonltoring of operstlons.
<br />(a) The owner or operator of any
<br />granular triple superphosphate stor•
<br />age faclllty subJect to the provisions of
<br />this subpart shall maintain an accu•
<br />rate account of triple superphosphate
<br />In storage to permit the determinatlon
<br />of the amount of equivalent P,O,
<br />stored.

<br />(b) The owner or operator of any
<br />granular triple superphosphate stor-
<br />age faclllty shall matntaln a dally
<br />record of total equivalent P,O, stored
<br />by multiplying the percentage P,O,
<br />content, as determined by
<br />4 60.244(c)(3), times the total mess of
<br />granular triple superphosphate stored.
<br />(c) The owner or operator of any
<br />granular Crlple superphosphate stor-
<br />age faclllty subJect to the provisions of
<br />this part shall Install, calibrate, maln-
<br />taln, and operate a monltorine device
<br />which continuously measures and per•
<br />manenLly records the total pressure
<br />drop across the process scrubbing
<br />system. The monitoring device shall
<br />have an accuracy of t5 percent over
<br />Its operating range.

<br />la) The owner or operator shall con-
<br />duct performance tests required In
<br />S 80.8 only when the following quanLf-

<br />phate Is at least 10 percent of the
<br />building capacity and
<br />(2) Fresh granular Crlple superphos-
<br />phate 18 at least 20 percent o[ the total
<br />amount of Crlple superphosphate or,
<br />/3) If the prov)slon In paragraph
<br />(a)(2) of this section exceeds produc-
<br />tion caDabllltles for fresh granular

<br />As used In this subpart, all terms not

<br />(s) "Coal preparation plant" means
<br />any faclllty (excludlne underground
<br />minln8 aperatlons) which prepares
<br />coal by one or more of the fallowing
<br />processes: breaking, crushlnH, ecreen-
<br />ing, wet or dry cleaning, and thermal
<br />drying.
<br />(b) "Bituminous coal" means solid
<br />fossil fuel classlfled as bltumtnoua coal
<br />by ASTM Deslgnatlon D388-77 (incor-
<br />porated by reference-see 4 80,17).
<br />(c) "Coal" means all solid fossD fuels
<br />clesslfled as anthracite, bituminous,
<br />subbltuminous, or lignite by ASTM
<br />Deslgnatlon D388-77 (incorporated by
<br />reference-see 4 80.17).
<br />(d) "Cyclonic flow" means a aplraJ-
<br />ing movement of exhaust gases within
<br />a duct or stack.
<br />(e) "Thermal dryer" means any fa-
<br />clllty 1n which the moisture content of
<br />bituminous coal le reduced by contact
<br />with a heated gas stream which la ex-
<br />hausted to the atmosphere.
<br />(f) "Pneumatic coal-cleaning equip-
<br />ment" means any faclllty which cleael-
<br />flea bituminous coal by size or eepe-
<br />ratea bituminous coal from refuse by
<br />application of air stream(s).
<br />(g> "Coal processing and conveying
<br />equipment" means any machinery
<br />used to reduce the size o! coal or to
<br />separate coal from refuse, and the
<br />equipment used to convey coal to or
<br />remove coal and refuse from Lhe ma-
<br />chinery. This Includes, but Is not llmlt-
<br />ed to, breakers, crushers, screens, and
<br />conveyor belle.
<br />(h) "Coal storage system" means any
<br />faclllty used to store coal except for
<br />open etora8e piles.
