Delta Sand and Grave. •
PIT #1 Amendment
M.L.R.B. # M-77-020
July 13, 1997
EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
This amendment is to increase the acreage of the affected
lands from 19.76 acres ± to 45.19 acres ±, an increase of 25.43
acres ±. We are adding two areas to the permit area as shown on
the AFFECTED LANDS Map on the Map Plat. The EAST PARCEL is the
largest of the two areas and covers approximately 19.92 acres.
This area was leased from Glen L. & Linda L. Black this spring.
The WEST PARCEL is the smaller of the two and covers 5.51 ac. ±
is owned by S&R Delta Partners L.L.L.P., who own the existing pit
area. The west area is currently used as part of an INDUSTRIAL
AREA that adjoins this pit on the south.
The method of mining will remain as approved in the original
application. The only variation being, that when the existing
parcel is mined out we will move into the EAST PARCEL shown on
the AFFECTED LANDS MAP. We will increase the mining line
setback, on this parcel only, from 25 feet to 50 feet from the
affected land line. This will give us room to build a sight berm
the owners want constructed along the south and west part of the
property, see Map Exhibit F. Mr. & Mrs. Black have asked us to
strip the entire mining area on the east parcel and build the
sight berm before mining begins. This will mean we will have a
larger than normal area stripped to accommodate their wishes.
Our bond estimate calculations for this amendment are shown on
page 12 of this text. The berm will be built with topsoil and
overburden stripped from the site prior to mining commencing.
Note that the berm extends off the affected lands on the east
side. This is required by our lease and should not be considered
part of the affected lands. This is because, only the berm will
be extended to the owners property line and no mining activities
will take place in the area east of the permit boundary.
On the WEST PARCEL and along the south side of the existing
mined area, where the site abuts the INDUSTRIAL AREA, we will
3
