• to an estimated average 8" and stored along the north
property line. Overburden will then be removed to
assist in regrading the most recently mined area. The
sand and gravel will then be removed at a rate dictated
by market conditions. Once mining is completed in an
area it will be reclaimed in a similar manner as now
being conducted in the southeastern part of the presently
permitted area.
The proposed amendment will not create the need
for any changes in the access roads into the permit area.
Roads within the permit area will change as the location
of mining changes. Once an area has been mined and is
• undergoing reclamation, access roads to that area will
also be reclaimed.
Stockpiles of gravel will remain in the area now
occupied by the crusher until the proposed permit area
has been developed to a size sufficient to allow loca-
tion of stockpiles nearer the active pit. The old
crusher/stockpile area will then be reclaimed.
As was stated in earlier permit applications, the
pit is dry and future mining activities are projected to ~
remain above the prevailing water table in the area.
There is presently a developed spring on the property
with a small retention pond. Water from this pond is
1
used by Bluetop Paving and the surface owner. Evidence
• of the water rights may be found in Exhibit G.
