SECTION IY. -PERMIT VARIANCES <br />The Trapper Mine Permit does not involve any variances regarding mountain top <br />removal or the achievement of approximate original contour. A variance was <br />granted from the requirements to reestablish premining shrub densities. The <br />variance is described under Section XII - Vegetation, of the April 8, 1988, <br />Findings of Compliance for Permit Revision No. 2 and Permit Renewal. <br />Reclamation activities and subsequent vegetation monitoring are ongoing at <br />this time. The Division has allowed Trapper to establish a 56 acre "no-seed" <br />plot in Derringer Pit. The area was reclaimed in 1989, and monitoring occurs <br />annually. <br />SECTION Y. - DECISION TO REQUIRE REVISIONS OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br />Please respond to the following requests no later than May 15, 1991; <br />1. Please check your records for any approval documents regarding <br />Minor Revision 67 (use of American Plum in reconstructed channels), <br />2. Please provide the information requested in Section III above. <br />3. Please submit a minor revision, which includes revised pages in <br />compl fiance with the new requirements of Rule 2.03.4. <br />SE CTICN VI. - BONDING SUMMARY <br />The Division currently holds the following bonding document: <br />Bond No. 645100203185BCA, issued by Aetna Casualty and Surety, <br />with riders, resulting in a total surety amount of 513,015,310.00. <br />This bond amount is probably adequate; however, a detailed bond analysis is in <br />process at this time. On March 13, 1991, Trapper Mining, Inc., submitted <br />Technical Revision No. 53. The technical revision addresses the total bond <br />amount for the Trapper Mine, and a final decision is due on May 21, 1991. <br />/ ern <br />4685E <br />-7- <br />
