SHELTON, Director
Richartl D Lamm
Governor
September 6, 1985
Mr. Gilbert F. Rindahl
Rindahl and Associates, Inc.
2305 South Syracuse, No. 217
Denver, Colorado 80231
RE: Tomah Site - File No. M-85-117
Dear Mr. Rindahl:
The Division has reviewed the above 112 Permit Application. The Division has
concern for the following items. Please specifically respond to each of these
items.
Exhihit A
Please describe the site to the nearest quarter-quarter section. This
will clarify the permit boundary in terms of description for submitting
the financial warranty. The site does not include the Wl/2 of the NE1/4
of Section 4.
Exhibit B
2. It is stated that this will be a dry pit. However, field inspection
indicated that ground water is in the existing pond area. Will the pit
be mined to a depth to expose groundwater? Will the ponds be backfilled
or filled with sediment from the operation?
3. It is stated that no water diversions will be constructed. The Division
recommends an upland ditch be constructed to divert undisturbed runoff.
This will minimize runoff to the site which creates a drier mining area
as well as controlling drainage and erosion. A drainage control plan
should be constructed and located on the Mining Plan Map.
4. Please list all the equipment and facilities planned for this operation.
What will be the equipment on the plant site, i.e., wash plant, screener,
crusher, etc? Please locate these facilities on the Mining Plan Map.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3567
