5)The County road dues separate our properties, and again I cannot see
any change in the current situation.
6) It is not that we have no consideration for fishing or the Platte,
we are just not impacting it in any way that we know of.
7) To answer this concern I refer to a letter from the Div. of
Wildlife. "The Division has reviewed the Above referenced
application and is familiar with the site. Overall, if properly
mined and reclaimed we believe the affects to the wildlife resource
will be minimal." Aa a follow up to this, I have enclosed a copy
of a letter from the State of Colorado congratulating us on
our reclamation at a prior location. I feel this shows a concern
to do things "properly and responsibly" and our good faith.
This area was founded by the early miners and their industry. These
early miners actually gave the community its present day name of
"FAIRPLAY". The property we currently own was originally patented
as a placer .mine in June 13, 1874, and the use has never been
changed. We purchased this property and assumed an existing
110 mining permit in July of 1989, and we have been operating
since that time. I can see this as a surprise to existing neighbors
if they did not know about the history and use of this property,
however, after researching real estate records I found you purchased
your property 10/31/90, and at that point our business had been
operating for over one year.
In closing I would like to say, I hope we have answered at least
some of your concerns, and you may review some of your objections.
We are long time, permanent residents of this community. My husband
who is now 71 years old was born in this area, and we love the
area also. We are a family run business, and we feel we provide
a much needed product especially if the area is to grow, and we
only help other people and businesses locally.
If I have erased any of your concerns please contact the Div.
of Minerals and Geology. If you have further questions please
also send them to the Division.
TY~
Sandy SanE~orn
Aug. 20, 1993
~~_~
