6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information The small areal disturbance and shallow excavation created by this gravel pit will not directly affect surface or ground water systems. The open, un-reclaimed pit azea will not exceed 10 acres at any time during the mining operation. The pit is not located within a natural drainage system. The pit is expected to encounter an underground aquifer. This aquifer is the sandstone which underlies the gravel deposit and may extend into the gravel bed itself. The perennial level of this ground water is unknown. The operator will not interfere with the aquifer, taking care to adjust the projected horizon of mining to leave a minimum of 2 feet of undisturbed material above the ground water when it is encountered. A berm along the exposed gravel outcrop at the west end of the Phase II pit will contain within the pit the runoff of precipitation events. The porous nature of the soils in this azea and the gentle slope of the pit development will allow the runoff created by brief periods of spring snow melts and summer rains to infiltrate into the ground surface. No additional measures will be required to control surface flow. No sedimentation pond is designed or anticipated. Therefore, the OperatorlApplicanthss not applied for a National Pollutant Dischazge Elimination System permit from the Water Quality Control Division of the Colorado Department of Health. The washing of sand and gravel is anticipated as demand dictates. Water will be obtained from a non jurisdictional dam that will collect waste irrigation return flow. The waste irrigation water will be pumped from the small reservoir located in the field north of the Phase III mining azea to a small pond in the Phase I pit azea. This pond will be located in the southeast comer of the pit. Water will re-circulate through the pond so the majority of the consumptive use will be the increase in moisture content in the product washed. Dr. Michael De3ohn, the owner of record of all lands included within the permit boundary, holds "all water and water rights, ditches and ditch rights, minerals and mineral rights appurtenant thereto or used in connection therewith including but not limited to 125 shares of The Farmers Water Development Company."Z The annual projected water usage for the project aze as follows: Development 0.00 acre feet Mining (Access Road Dust Suppression) 1.47 acre feet Reclamation (irrigation) 2.00 acre feet Washing Oneration 20,000 tons with a 4% increase in moisture 0.60 acre feet Total 4.07 acre feet ZTaken from the QUIT CLAIM DEED dated January 7, 2000 between Esther Ellen Kelley and Tom Friedas Kelly and Blackburn Ranches, a partnership as grantor(s), and Michael De7ohn, included in Exhibit N -Source of Legal Right to Enter.
