Any compacted side slopes and floor of the pits will be ripped before final reclamation. A
minimum of 2 feet of cover material will be maintained over the underlying sandstone floor
during the mining operation. If the sandstone floor is not exposed, due to the presence of ground
water, the 2 feet of gravel material left in place above the ground water will remain in place as
cover material. The final slope of each pit will be loosened by the front-end loader and then
reshaped before final reclamation.
The access road and ditch crossings to Phase I and Phase II serve as entry onto the private land of
the gravel pit Owner/Operator and will remain upon completion of the operation.
Other reclamation tasks will include the removal of the semi portable truck scales and the removal
of the portable screening/crushing plant, the portable storage shed, the portable diesel electric
generator set, the portable fuel tank and the portable sanitation facility.
The operator is aware that grazing may not occur on the acreage in reclamation without prior
authorization from the Division, in consultation with the local Soil Conservation District.
E-3
