The access road, which directs all truck traffic to all three phases of the gravel pit, accesses the <br />county maintained Redvale Road approximately 550' east of the neazest dwelling. The planning <br />of this road minimizes the effects of dust and noise generated by the operation on the rural <br />lifestyle of the local community. <br />Operating hours of the pit aze controlled the Montrose County Special Use Permit. <br />Overhead power lines as illustrated on the Exhibit C-1 Pre-Mining Map, cross the Phase I and <br />Phase II areas. San Miguel Power Association maintains an easement for these structures. The <br />gravel operation will not affect the stability of these structures. <br />The only commodities [o be mined are construction materials. Construction materials include but <br />aze not limited to pit run gravel, road base, and screened/sized gravel. No secondary commodities <br />aze to be mined or extracted. <br />The construction products will be used for the production of asphalt, concrete and road <br />construction. The gravel products are also used as select and special fill for construction sites. <br />Sand and gravel will be washed as demand dictates. The main demand is for masonry sand. <br />Other products will include gravel, road sand, chips and concrete sand and gravel. It is anticipated <br />that approximately 20,000 tons of material will be washed per year. <br />D-3 <br />
