Site Description
Data for the site description was supplied by the local
Soil Conservation Service (SCS), Walden, Colorado. The data is
located in Exhibit "B", previously submitted.
The soils information is from the Jackson County Soil
Survey for "Cabin" and "Randman" sandy loams. The vegetation
description is from the Field Office Technical Guide, Section II,
Range Site Description, for Dry Mountain Loam range sites.
Premining use of the site is that of dry rangeland and
postmining use is to be the same (dry rangeland).
Term
Mine Plan
Life of Mine: 10 years.
Proposed Dates: 1995 - 2005.
Size: The size of the permit boundary encompassing the
mining operation is less than 10 acres. The pit
and related soils stockpiles shall be within the
boundary.
Staging: The mining/reclamation operation is composed of
four (4) stages. Stages 1, 2, and 3 are mining
advance phases and Stage 4 is the final reclamation
phase.
Staging Methodology: The proposed pit area is divided into 3
stages of equal size concerning surface area. By
this means, if mining operations terminate either
as scheduled or prematurely, adequate soils
(overburden and topsoil) are available to reclaim
disturbed areas during any phase of the operation
throughout the mine life.
Schedule:
Stage 1: Stripping, soils removal and mining are to
commence in Stage 1 which is located in the SE
extension of the proposed pit area. Topsoil
and overburden will be stored in separate
respective stockpiles in the SE corner of the
permit boundary area (Stage 1).
2
