• i 111 llllllllllllllll
999
PROPOSED MINE PLAN CHANGE
PETERSON PIT
Merlin J. & Shirley F. Peterson ~~F
Less Than 10 Acres ~G~\ h ~•~°`'
~ ~~O - ~o~00'`1
Lying in W'/z SW'/a , ~~'
Section 36-TSN-R78W-6PM
Jackson County, Colorado ~~\o~o\,''
The above named operators submitted a proposal to
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology (March, 1995) to construct
a gravel aggregate pit located in a parcel less than 10 acres as
described above and as shown in Exhibit "A" attached. Appropriate
exhibits, maps and data were attached as required by regulation for
mining/reclamation operations of the proposed pit.
After further evaluation of the proposed site, the
operators have elected to change the direction of mining (mining
advancement). By so doing, drainage control is simplified by
maintaining the pit bottom drainage gradient opening to
("daylighting") the lower land contours.
This technique benefits the project by:
Eliminating the previously proposed temporary
drainage ditch through the site,
• More centrally locates the temporary soil piles
reducing haul distance and cost.
Stage #1 Mining is revised to commence at the lower
elevation at the SE extension of the site and daylight pit drainage
to the Colorado Highway 14 drainage ditch rather than starting at
the NW corner of the site as previously proposed. The following
text and related data has been revised to reflect the change in the
mining advancement direction.
